Besse and agility

Finally I got some of my agility equipment out of the attic!  I set it up in the yard and introduced Besse to it.  As I expected based on her previous exposure the equipment a few weeks ago she did really well.  Gosh, in a matter of about 5 minutes she was doing the three obstacles that I had set up for her.  See the videos below.  I worked with her a few minutes in the morning. Then, I ran some errands and worked with her a few minutes again in the afternoon.  That was it.

She is really a great girl.  She has been good about chewing on nylabones and not things she shouldn't.  She will chew the fleece blanket that's in her crate but that's okay in my book.  That's in her space and I'm sure it feels a lot like some of the fleece toys she plays with.

Besse surprised us about two weeks ago and went into heat.  The rescue had been told that Besse was spayed before she came to the rescue but there must have been a mix-up or miscommunication.  That's okay though, she'll be finished with her heat cycle in a week or so and we will have her spayed.  She's been good during her heat cycle.  She is a little more frisky when playing with my other dogs but that's about it.

Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue!

In the first video below I am giving Besse a treat after each obstacle.  No kidding, after just at couple minutes she did all three as you'll see in the second video.  Smart girl!  She has a great focus.  Even my trainer friend has commented on what great focus she has.

Even Leah was doing agility with Besse

See, here's an example of Besse's focus.  Sure, Leah had treats but still great focus.
