My mom and Bob (Elton's foster family) are out of town so I am puppy sitting again. Yay! He's such a wonderful guy and we've had a great couple of days so far. We have gone to school, soccer practice, softball practice, pet store, to the vaccination clinic for his last round of puppy shots and to the vet for a nail trim. He is a very good passenger in the car. He met some other dogs at school and at soccer practice. He greeted them both nicely. He is a submissive guy and will lay down and then roll on his back before he starts playing. That's a good puppy! He did good at the clinic and at the vet. He sat in my lap while we waited at the clinic. He let out a muffled yap when dogs would come in the clinic but remained nicely in my lap. At the vet he also let out a little bark when he heard some noises he wasn't familiar with. All these things were new to him and really he did very well with all the new activities he did the last few days.
I finally got a hold of that little face and trimmed up the hair around his eyes. You know, terriers can get that hair that fans out from the bridge of their nose and covers their eyes. He looks even more handsome now! His one ear kinda sticks up higher than the other and that raises his cuteness quotient even higher!
We are only puppy sitting so I haven't introduced him to my pack of dogs. Plus, my male dog isn't always accepting of puppies. So, Elton has been upstairs in the guest room with frequent potty breaks and walks during the day. He is very content and quiet when he's by himself. Sure he'd love to have a friend to play with but when there is none he makes do. He sleeps soundly all night. He uses his puppy pads but I notice that he's much better about holding it until he gets outside compared to the last time he was here almost 2 months ago. I'd say he is doing very well at potty training.
He met lots of new people the last couple of days. Sometimes he is shy at first but he quickly warms up. He is a lap dog and really enjoys snuggling up for a nap next to me. I bring my laptop into the guest room and hang out with him and he's more interested in sitting next to me than chewing on his bone. Such a loving little boy.
