I went to visit Elton in his foster home a few days ago and have a video and some pictures to share with you. Click the link below for the video.
Here's an update from a few days ago.
Elton John is a wonderful 4 month old puppy. He is playful and loving. He seems smart and is already learning "sit" and "down" from his foster dad. He is good with the cats and dogs in his foster home. He would really prefer that they all play with him and when they don't he enjoys a romp in the yard instead. When he's tuckered out after playing he does love to cuddle with his foster family. He's learning the ropes of potty training and is very good about doing his business when he's outside. When he's inside he has access to potty pads and is good about using them, particularly when they are on a hard surface. The carpet reminds him of the potty pads so he's had some accidents there but is making good progress learning. His foster family says he is good listener and understands "no." They also report that he doesn't bark much. He gets excited when he sees his foster dad first thing each morning and will let out some happy yaps. You may be thinking that Elton John doesn't look like a Yorkshire Terrier. Well, his mom, Diva, is a Yorkie mix. We don't know about the dad. At 4 months old Elton is 9 pounds. The rule of thumb is to double the 4 month weight, so he will likely be around 18 pounds as a fully grown adult dog. His black and white markings make him a very handsome dude.
